Nearby Meant To Be:
Ocean beach:
Wellfleet's big wave ocean beach is about 4 miles from Meant To Be.
Bound Brook Island:
Hundreds of years of sand accretion has made Bound Brook Island an island no more. It is wholly within the Cape Cod National Seashore in Wellfleet. It is adjacent to Griffin Island, and next to Griffin is Great Island. Both are no longer real islands. There are some hidden gems in Wellfleet that I cannot reveal, but I can tell you that the spit of sand that connects Griffin Island with Great Island is called 'The Gut.'
Wellfleet :
Authentic character and charm about 75 miles
out into the Atlantic ocean. About half of Wellfleet is preserved as part
of the Cape Cod National Seashore. There's a unique nautical history, a quaint village
center, and a plentiful supply of fresh fish and shellfish, including
the world famous Wellfleet Oyster. The public beaches - ocean, bay, and pond -
are beautiful, swimmable, and not as crowded as other parts of Cape Cod.
